Anil is a bilingual writer of poems, short stories and essays.  Based in India, his history with Paul Cox spans over 40 years. Anil collaborated with Paul Cox on short films and documentaries Paul made in India during the 1960 and 1970’s.  He spent many years as a Lecturer, Associate Professor and Head of Department in English at the Serampore College, University of Kolkata.  Anil is member of the Publisher and Bookseller's Guild, which organises the Kolkata Book Fair, he has served several terms as Secretary of the Guild.  More recently Anil has been a weekly columnist for the Bengali newspaper ‘Ei Somoy’.
